Quality
At Exceptional Care House we believe that all young people have the capacity to change and move forward purposefully in life. However, we also recognise that we will not be able to meet the needs of every young person who is referred.
At Exceptional Care House we believe that all young people have the capacity to change and move forward purposefully in life. However, we also recognise that we will not be able to meet the needs of every young person who is referred.
Inappropriate placements resulting in frequent moves perpetuate the belief that young people are worthless and that their rejection from others is inevitable. It is important, therefore, that we are given as much information as possible to make an accurate assessment as to whether a placement will be appropriate. Such decisions are often made in consultation with social workers, commissioning through our compatibility/impact assessment. Therapeutic partners, CCATS, will be given an overview of the individual’s needs.
If all parties, consider that a placement may be appropriate then an admission meeting will be arranged. The young person will be invited for a transition visit and staff on duty will give them information about the home and a welcome pack to take away with them.
To make the decision as to whether a placement will be made the Matching and Pre-admission Assessment Process will proceed as follows:
Initial discussion with the Registered Manager detailing;
A decision will then be made as to whether a placement will be considered.

My work has included working with GP’s locality managers and providers’ at a strategic level to improve Children’s Adolescent Mental health services. I have written numerous service specifications for a range of community paediatric services as a result of the dissolution of the Liverpool Community Trust. Gillian’s role is to bring order, around processes systems and this will ultimately improve standards. Develop a value-based quality plan which I will lead and implement. Because of my experience I will bring a coaching management style to bring out the best in our team, developing people as we develop systems.
