Your Role
You will be supporting young people from complex backgrounds, with High Risk Challenging Behaviour, EBD and Learning/Behavioural Difficulties, providing advice, assistance and support to young people and to attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs.
As an Adventure Support Worker, day to day , sailing of the barge you will be engaging in activities, promoting Independent skills, education and cooking.
Required
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare is preferred but not essential
- 12 months experience working with young people
- Driving Licence, required to use a company car while on shift
Residential Childcare Worker
Exceptional care is looking for someone to work as a senior member of the team in the provision of care in our home Preston and support services for people with emotional and challenging behaviours. During your duties you will be expected to lead and plan your team whilst on shift and take responsibility for supervision of the staff.

Exceptional Care is a children’s service providing Care and Support to children and young people aged 7-17. The service is an independent social care organisation with multiple residential units across Lancashire and Merseyside regions.
We are welcoming applications from experienced Registered Managers with experience of leading staff to support children and young people that live with emotional and behavioural disorders.

Your Role
The post holder will be responsible for managing all aspects of running the Home, for medium to long term planned or emergency placements to ensure young people are supported, with their overall care plan needs. This particular home is a 4 bedded home.
To ensure that high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable accommodation and the service of keyworkers are planned, provided and applied in accordance with home’s Procedures and Strategies.
You will provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring that effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management, the application of the companies policies and procedures, including those relating to equality, supervision and appraisal and all aspects of performance, personal development, health and welfare.
The Person
- Diploma Level 5 in Childcare or Equivalent
- 3 years’ experience working with children in the last 5 years and at least 1 year at senior level
- Supervision or management experience
- Working with children, young people and their families in a residential setting
- OFSTED experience
- Full UK Driving Licence

We decided to relocate one of our small homes and transition the young people into a bigger home, which we named Maple House, located in a rural setting.
